OUR PASTOR

Bishop Eric H. Nesmith
Evangelist | Visionary | Philanthropist | Pastor
Bishop Eric H. Nesmith was born the youngest of seven in the pleasant plains of Nesmith, South Carolina. He credits his late parents, agriculturer & entrepreneur Vaughn, and evangelist Betty Nesmith, as the carpenters that framed the foundation of both his integrity and work ethic to-date. Transitioning over the years, Bishop Eric H. Nesmith excelled as an astute scholar, graduating from Denmark Technical College (Denmark, South Carolina) with an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology, as well as advancing his studies at W.L. Bonner College (Columbia, South Carolina) wherein he received a Bachelor Degree of Religious Studies in Pastoral Ministries in May of 2014.
Bishop Eric H. Nesmith's ministerial and spiritual history exceeds a tenure of over three decades. Accepting Christ as his personal savior in July of 1984, his testimony of salvation and the infilling of the Holy Ghost was marked at the tender age of 14. Bishop Nesmith accepted his call to ministry in 1997 and was ordained an elder in 2001. He's since traveled to various regions of the country evangelizing & preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, he progressed to carve out an independent Atlanta-based church: Grace Tabernacle Ministry. Therein, he has served as the senior pastor, visionary, and spiritual shepherd for 16 years and counting.
Don’t Try…Do
“Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
So often we fail at a task because of the mindset of try. The word try does not communicate true commitment. When we try we leave room for failure. Just in case it did not work out, remember I said I would try. Trying means we never take full responsibility for the outcome. The scripture doesn’t state “I can try all things through Christ, it says do. There is great power in the word do.
Consider this. If you needed something important done and you approach two people and one said…I’ll try and the other said I will do it, which would you choose?
Of course you are going to choose the one that gave a definite answer to the question. When we say do, we are stepping out in faith nothing wavering. God honors our courage and begins to work on our behalf. Things that would have never worked out work out. God is going to make sure you are not a liar because you were made in His image and likeness. He will empower you with the strength, source, and ways and means to accomplish the goal. Maybe it’s losing weight, spending quality time with loved ones, reading your word, praying, or attending church. Whatever it is, be intentional. Don’t try…do.
“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency] Phil 4:13 Amplified Version (AMP).”
